CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF AGING

The painted barns of Cameron have been an attraction of those who love old barns, buildings, eclectic art and all things old and aging. What remains of the collection continues to offer photographers unique was to “document” but even moreso, to interpret the impact of time on both the barns and the art. Decades ago a group of artists, led by a local, David Ellis, gathered to put their marks on more than 17 barns and buildings. Those that remain still give rise to intrigue and inspiration.

Join Jamie Konarski Davidson for a day in the “country”. Beyond the documentary images, be prepared to explore the potential of in-camera techniques that go beyond the straight shot – selective focus, multiple exposures, ICM (in-camera motion), abstracts and more. With a small group, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for group and individual hands-on instruction.

STRETCH YOUR “SEEING” MUSCLES

Wabi Sabi is the word for our day together.

For those familiar with the concept of “wabi sabi,” this day will be full of those subjects. For those new to the idea, think of finding the beauty in imperfection. Prepare to explore cracks, brokenness, peeling paint and torn tar paper for starters. These are the subjects that once gone will never return. They have “lived their life” and time is marching onward, eventually without them.

This workshop will challenge those who are literal purists and excite those who lean easily into the interpretive style of photography. Prior to the workshop you’ll receive information that will help you arrive prepared with gear as well as ideas to explore the barns and area.
