January 28, 2011 (Sat) --
Sylvan Heights Bird Park, Scotland Neck, NC

There are many wonderful things
about Sylvan Heights Bird Park (formerly Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park). Among
them is the unique opportunity to see birds and waterfowl from around the world
without even having to step onto an airplane or leave North Carolina. Beyond
that, it's an incredible place to photograph these birds at close range,
enabling close-ups as well as behavior shots. Come join me at one of my favorite
eastern North Carolina shooting locations and learn how to improve your bird
photography skills. Come prepared for a full day of shooting and fun.
February 25, 2011 (Sat) -- Painted Barns of Cameron, Cameron, NC
For those
who have known me long enough, you'll recall that we've been sharing and
photographing the painted barns of Cameron over quite a number of years. The
original vibrant colors are fading and peeling, yet the call of the rural
landscape has kept me coming back to capture the structures that speak of hard
work, the designs of artists that express all kinds of creativity, and the small
towns along the way to get to Cameron. Come join me on another day's adventure
into the past, and shoot these barns and the rural landscape while they still
remain. You'll want to pack and use whatever lenses you own. There are still
tons of images yet to be discovered.
